Two months down peeps. I am two months postpartum on Friday. This month I have felt more like myself. I can get up and move around more. I’m not in terrible pain every time I walk around the grocery store and I can lay flat in my bed every night and sleep just fine. Continue reading “2 Months Postpartum”
Before getting pregnant I hadn’t really put much thought into what child birth does to your body. And boy did it do a number on mine. If you haven’t read my little boy’s birth story go ahead and check it out here. That will give you a bit of background. Continue reading “1 month Postpartum”
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I am so excited to celebrate with my family this year. Speaking of celebrating with a large group of people… Have you ever wondered why thanksgiving is the one holiday during the Holiday Season that doesn’t involve the entire neighborhood? Continue reading “5 Neighborhood Thanksgiving Traditions”
.It’s funny to write this story. When it all began I had no idea what I was in for. I felt prepared and Oh-so ready for our little man to make his appearance, I just didn’t have any idea it would be such a…… what should I call it…… an experience. Continue reading “Birth Story”
I knew I had entered my nesting period when I insisted on cleaning our self cleaning oven by hand. The thing is, the oven was clean… but not like new clean, it has been stained by years of use, and the self cleaning feature only burns away the dirt. It doesn’t remove the stains and such. So I enlisted my sister’s help to remove the oven door so I could reach better. Inside and out. This is when I pulled out the best natural cleaning tool my secret weapon. Continue reading “Best All Natural Cleaning Tool”
Since today is my due date, and my little man has yet to arrive I decided to do a bit of research to see if there’s any way I can speed up his delivery. But I am also a firm believer that he will come out only when he is good and ready (or with the help of medical professionals). So I found the easiest ways to induce labor and I’m going to try some of these. Continue reading “10 Easiest Ways to Induce Labor”
I have always loved the look of royal icing on cookies. If done right it can really make something impressive. But sometimes it’s more fun to make something slightly less impressive but much more fun. That’s when I came up with this Halloween Sugar Cookie recipe. Continue reading “Halloween Sugar Cookies”
My mom used to make English Breakfast Scones for us as kids but it has been such a long time since I have had them. But I was craving them and had to experiment a bit.
This year I wanted to come up with something different for my Halloween display. That is when Genius struck and I came up with the Halloween Popcorn Garland. Inspired by the Christmas popcorn Garland. Continue reading “Halloween Popcorn Garland”
I was so excited to go on my hospital tour and it was actually a lot of fun. Our tour group was very small just two other couples, one was a set of first time parents and the other couple had five other children. It was nice to have a mix of experiences. Continue reading “What to Ask on Your Hospital Tour”
I see blog posts about side hustles all the time and they each have the same things in common. 1) they are all low paying, low skilled jobs and 2) everyone has the same ideas. So I thought I’d throw out one side hustle that I have really enjoyed and that makes a significant amount of money. Continue reading “The Best Summer Side Hustle”

I’m so excited to be working with Primed Birth and the Tummy team to bring you a review of their online courses! They generously offered my course for free but rest assured all opinions are my own.
Motherhood is something I have been looking forward to since my husband and I decided to get married. I have always wanted to be a mom. Unfortunately our path to parenthood wouldn’t be as easy as we hoped. Continue reading “Primed Birth Prep Course Review”
I am so very excited to share this project with you guys! It could have been excitement, it could have been pregnancy, either way I had been up all night, trying to decide how I was going to cover the ugly floor in the baby’s room. I considered all kinds of DIY area rug solutions and nothing was quite right. It was either too expensive, or not big enough, or didn’t go with the room. Thought about just putting carpet down, but again that was too expensive and didn’t appeal to my creativity. But while at the carpet store I asked them what they did with all their leftover carpet samples. This is when my best idea ever was born! Continue reading “DIY Area Rug For Less Than $5”
One of the biggest blessings in my life are my two adorable pups. I don’t know what I would do without them. So naturally when I found out I was pregnant I started looking for ways to get my fur babies ready for my human baby. I read a ton of blog posts, books and looked for any advice on the subject. Continue reading “Preparing Your Dog for a New Baby”
Most Sundays at our house are filled with cooking, church meetings, and hair spray. But this Sunday I decided to take my hubby up to the mountains and just spend a relaxing day.

I’ve always had a problem with invitations. On one hand I feel like paper invitations are a waste, because guests almost always throw them away after the event. Which would make online invitations the way to go right? But how tacky is it to send evites or Facebook invites for a special occasion? But paper invitations are so expensive, plus you have to pay for postage which increases the price by a fifty cents or so. Can you see my dilemma? Continue reading “Quick and Affordable Baby Shower Invites”
Now that all my siblings are grown up and have families of their own, Christmas gifting has changed. Instead of giving gifts to each member of the family, we decided to exchange stockings. Each year we randomly select another family member to give to that year and fill a stocking with some of their favorite goodies. This year I’d like to try out some retro inspired stocking stuffers for my loved ones. So I have compiled a list of stocking stuffers that you may have found hanging above your fireplace in years gone past. Continue reading “19 Retro Inspired Stocking Stuffers”
It happened again, the 4th of July snuck up on me, and I forgot to make a birthday cake for my oldest pup. I know I’m a terrible mother. Oh well. After complaining to my husband that I had forgotten he reminded me that I could still make her one. Which of course I hadn’t considered. But it had to be simple. We don’t have air conditioning right now and I couldn’t bear to sit in the kitchen with the oven on. So I came up with what is so far my favorite dog cake yet. Continue reading “The Easiest Dog Cake You Will Ever Make”
Right before my freshman year in college I was looking for a very specific bag to carry all my school supplies in. I wanted a messenger bag big enough to fit all my books and my laptop with a few pockets and a place to put some pencils for easy access. Unfortunately all the bags I found were too small or too expensive. I figured it was time to put my sewing skills to good use and designed my perfect bag. T Continue reading “DIY Messenger Bag”
