Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I am so excited to celebrate with my family this year. Speaking of celebrating with a large group of people… Have you ever wondered why thanksgiving is the one holiday during the Holiday Season that doesn’t involve the entire neighborhood? Halloween Sugar Cookies

I have always loved the look of royal icing on cookies. If done right it can really make something impressive. But sometimes it’s more fun to make something slightly less impressive but much more fun. That’s when I came up with this Halloween Sugar Cookie recipe. Continue reading “Halloween Sugar Cookies”

31 Not-So-Scary Halloween Shows

Halloween has been a long time favorite holiday of mine, and movies are also one of my favorite things. But scary movies are NOT my thing at all. I have nightmares from watching NCIS. So for halloween I’ve come up with 21 not-so-scary  Halloween movies and shows that I can enjoy all month long! And the best part is, each of these can be found on Netflix (as of 2017, you know how Netflix likes to take away our favorite shows…). So take a look and start enjoying the spooky season! Quick and Affordable Baby Shower Invites

I’ve always had a problem with invitations. On one hand I feel like paper invitations are a waste, because guests almost always throw them away after the event. Which would make online invitations the way to go right? But how tacky is it to send evites or Facebook invites for a special occasion? But paper invitations are so expensive, plus you have to pay for postage which increases the price by a fifty cents or so. Can you see my dilemma? 19 Retro Inspired Stocking Stuffers

Now that all my siblings are grown up and have families of their own, Christmas gifting has changed. Instead of giving gifts to each member of the family, we decided to exchange stockings. Each year we randomly select another family member to give to that year and fill a stocking with some of their favorite goodies. This year I’d like to try out some retro inspired stocking stuffers for my loved ones. So I have compiled a list of stocking stuffers that you may have found hanging above your fireplace in years gone past. Continue reading “19 Retro Inspired Stocking Stuffers”

The Easiest Dog Cake You Will Ever Make

It happened again, the 4th of July snuck up on me, and I forgot to make a birthday cake for my oldest pup. I know I’m a terrible mother. Oh well. After complaining to my husband that I had forgotten he reminded me that I could still make her one. Which of course I hadn’t considered. But it had to be simple. We don’t have air conditioning right now and I couldn’t bear to sit in the kitchen with the oven on. So I came up with what is so far my favorite dog cake yet. Continue reading “The Easiest Dog Cake You Will Ever Make”

Camping Essentials Checklist

Growing up my mom would take my siblings and me camping at least once a year. We had a group of friends and we would head out every summer. Somehow we always had everything we needed for camping, the magic camping fairy would prepare all out clothes, gear and food and we would just pack the car and leave. It wasn’t until I was freezing cold on a mountaintop with my brand new husband that I realized just how much work that camping fairy *cough, cough* mom…. Did before each trip. Baby Moon on Any Budget

I love the idea of going on a baby moon. One last trip away just the two of you without worrying about any babies left at home. However with everything we need to get ready for baby to arrive there’s not a lot of cash left for a vacation. Which means it’s time to get clever. Continue reading “Baby Moon on Any Budget”

How to Have a Safe and Stellar Firework Show

Fireworks are a blast (pun intended). I love fireworks. I worked for three summers operating a firework sales tent and I absolutely loved it. I learned a lot about fireworks and how to have a safe and enjoyable holiday. Continue reading “How to Have a Safe and Stellar Firework Show”
