It’s crazy how fast time flies when you’re having fun! cant believe I’m already doing his 3 month update. Young sir turned three months old on Christmas Eve. We had so much fun having a baby for the holiday season this year. I’m so grateful for the wonderful experiences we get to have with this little guy in our lives.
Two months have gone by and my little man is growing like a weed! I’m about a week late with his two month update, but I guess better late than never! Continue reading “2 Months Old”
Two months down peeps. I am two months postpartum on Friday. This month I have felt more like myself. I can get up and move around more. I’m not in terrible pain every time I walk around the grocery store and I can lay flat in my bed every night and sleep just fine. Continue reading “2 Months Postpartum”
Before getting pregnant I hadn’t really put much thought into what child birth does to your body. And boy did it do a number on mine. If you haven’t read my little boy’s birth story go ahead and check it out here. That will give you a bit of background. Continue reading “1 month Postpartum”
Young Sir turned one month old today. I can’t believe it’s been a whole month already! This past month has gone by so quickly. With everything that has been going on, I feel like I have almost missed this month. Lets face it I was pretty drugged up for the first two weeks of his life. However, even with all the drugs we still got to know each other pretty well this month. Continue reading “One Month Old”
.It’s funny to write this story. When it all began I had no idea what I was in for. I felt prepared and Oh-so ready for our little man to make his appearance, I just didn’t have any idea it would be such a…… what should I call it…… an experience. Continue reading “Birth Story”
I knew I had entered my nesting period when I insisted on cleaning our self cleaning oven by hand. The thing is, the oven was clean… but not like new clean, it has been stained by years of use, and the self cleaning feature only burns away the dirt. It doesn’t remove the stains and such. So I enlisted my sister’s help to remove the oven door so I could reach better. Inside and out. This is when I pulled out the best natural cleaning tool my secret weapon. Continue reading “Best All Natural Cleaning Tool”
Since today is my due date, and my little man has yet to arrive I decided to do a bit of research to see if there’s any way I can speed up his delivery. But I am also a firm believer that he will come out only when he is good and ready (or with the help of medical professionals). So I found the easiest ways to induce labor and I’m going to try some of these. Continue reading “10 Easiest Ways to Induce Labor”
My mom used to make English Breakfast Scones for us as kids but it has been such a long time since I have had them. But I was craving them and had to experiment a bit.
I was so excited to go on my hospital tour and it was actually a lot of fun. Our tour group was very small just two other couples, one was a set of first time parents and the other couple had five other children. It was nice to have a mix of experiences. Continue reading “What to Ask on Your Hospital Tour”
I’m so excited to be working with Primed Birth and the Tummy team to bring you a review of their online courses! They generously offered my course for free but rest assured all opinions are my own.
Motherhood is something I have been looking forward to since my husband and I decided to get married. I have always wanted to be a mom. Unfortunately our path to parenthood wouldn’t be as easy as we hoped. Continue reading “Primed Birth Prep Course Review”
There comes a time about every two weeks when the dog’s nails need to be trimmed…. Oh boy. I always know it’s time becuase I end up with a sweater snag or hole in a blanket. And that time has come. Pedicures for all the pups! Continue reading “DIY Puppy Pedicure”
One of the biggest blessings in my life are my two adorable pups. I don’t know what I would do without them. So naturally when I found out I was pregnant I started looking for ways to get my fur babies ready for my human baby. I read a ton of blog posts, books and looked for any advice on the subject. Continue reading “Preparing Your Dog for a New Baby”
Most Sundays at our house are filled with cooking, church meetings, and hair spray. But this Sunday I decided to take my hubby up to the mountains and just spend a relaxing day.

Congratulations! You’re expecting! Now what? Well first you should get an appointment with an OBGYN to check on the little one. It may be a couple weeks until they can get you in based on how many weeks pregnant you are. I was in denial, so I didn’t take a pregnancy test until I was about eight weeks pregnant. Which was actually great for me because, I only had to wait a couple days to go to my first doctor’s appointment. But Boy-Oh-Boy were those few days excruciating. I am not a patient person and waiting a few days for an appointment was a nightmare. So like any crazy person I spent hours online trying to find out what I needed to know before stepping foot the in doctors office. The good news is you don’t really need to do anything. The bad news is you don’t have anything to do while you wait. Continue reading “Do’s and Don’t’s Before Your First Doctor Appointment”
Growing up my mom would take my siblings and me camping at least once a year. We had a group of friends and we would head out every summer. Somehow we always had everything we needed for camping, the magic camping fairy would prepare all out clothes, gear and food and we would just pack the car and leave. It wasn’t until I was freezing cold on a mountaintop with my brand new husband that I realized just how much work that camping fairy *cough, cough* mom…. Did before each trip. The moment we found out we were having a baby my husband has been ecstatic, and terrified and worried, and so have I. The advantage I have, is getting all the attention. I think sometimes dads are overlooked in the whole pregnancy and childbirth process, which is silly because their lives are about to be changed just as much as the mom’s life but they don’t get the perks of having everyone fawn all over them for nine months before the baby arrives. Which got me thinking about how I can involve my husband in my pregnancy. Here’s what I came up with. Continue reading “4 Ways to Involve Dad in Pregnancy”
I am a list maker. If I don’t have some sort of list in front of me, I probably won’t get anything done, or I’ll forget half of what I need. So naturally when I got pregnant I started making lists like this one. Lots of people warned me about making this list, because I won’t know how big baby is going to be. But what they don’t understand is that some people, like me, have to have lists. Otherwise I will go completely insane. Besides I can just return what I don’t want right….. I see lots of articles claiming to be what you really need for your baby when he or she comes home. But each one has things I don’t necessarily want or need to have. I talked with lots of other moms and grandmothers to see what I actually NEED to have, and turns out, it’s very simple. Continue reading “Bare Minimum Baby Needs”
This is Meal #2 in my meal prep for baby series. Meal #1 was a yummy sausage lasagna. But anyway, here we go. My mother has been making this Mac & Cheese since I was a tiny baby and it’s still one of my favorites. When mom would say she was making Mac & Cheese for dinner, the next question would always be “What Kind?” to which she would reply “The Good Kind.” And trust me, it is the good kind. The best part is it’s amazingly simple to make. Continue reading “The Easy Way to Prep Freezer Meals Before Baby: Part Two”
