Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I am so excited to celebrate with my family this year. Speaking of celebrating with a large group of people… Have you ever wondered why thanksgiving is the one holiday during the Holiday Season that doesn’t involve the entire neighborhood? Best All Natural Cleaning Tool

I knew I had entered my nesting period when I insisted on cleaning our self cleaning oven by hand. The thing is, the oven was clean… but not like new clean, it has been stained by years of use, and the self cleaning feature only burns away the dirt. It doesn’t remove the stains and such. So I enlisted my sister’s help to remove the oven door so I could reach better. Inside and out. This is when I pulled out the best natural cleaning tool my secret weapon. Halloween Sugar Cookies

I have always loved the look of royal icing on cookies. If done right it can really make something impressive. But sometimes it’s more fun to make something slightly less impressive but much more fun. That’s when I came up with this Halloween Sugar Cookie recipe. Continue reading “Halloween Sugar Cookies”

The Best Summer Side Hustle

I see blog posts about side hustles all the time and they each have the same things in common. 1) they are all low paying, low skilled jobs and 2) everyone has the same ideas. So I thought I’d throw out one side hustle that I have really enjoyed and that makes a significant amount of money. Continue reading “The Best Summer Side Hustle”

“You Are Not Special” The Best Advice Mom Ever Gave Me

Let’s get one thing straight first. My mother is a saint. The Lord dealt her a pretty sucky hand in life and I don’t think anyone could have done a better job raising her children. Continue reading ““You Are Not Special” The Best Advice Mom Ever Gave Me”

DIY Area Rug For Less Than $5

I am so very excited to share this project with you guys! It could have been excitement, it could have been pregnancy, either way I had been up all night, trying to decide how I was going to cover the ugly floor in the baby’s room. I considered all kinds of DIY area rug solutions and nothing was quite right. It was either too expensive, or not big enough, or didn’t go with the room. Thought about just putting carpet down, but again that was too expensive and didn’t appeal to my creativity. But while at the carpet store I asked them what they did with all their leftover carpet samples. This is when my best idea ever was born! Continue reading “DIY Area Rug For Less Than $5”

31 Not-So-Scary Halloween Shows

Halloween has been a long time favorite holiday of mine, and movies are also one of my favorite things. But scary movies are NOT my thing at all. I have nightmares from watching NCIS. So for halloween I’ve come up with 21 not-so-scary  Halloween movies and shows that I can enjoy all month long! And the best part is, each of these can be found on Netflix (as of 2017, you know how Netflix likes to take away our favorite shows…). So take a look and start enjoying the spooky season! Reduce Your Medical Bills by 50%

One of the worst feelings in the world is having a loved one sick and in the hospital. Then almost as bad is getting the bills in the mail, sometimes while they’re still being treated. I know the feeling well. Opening those ominous envelopes and seeing five figure numbers in bright red ink. Then receiving another bill from the doctor, then the other doctor, then the radiologist, etc, etc, etc. Pretty soon you’re holding over 30k in bills and are completely overwhelmed. Here’s what you can do to reduce these bills. Continue reading “Reduce Your Medical Bills by 50%”

19 Retro Inspired Stocking Stuffers

Now that all my siblings are grown up and have families of their own, Christmas gifting has changed. Instead of giving gifts to each member of the family, we decided to exchange stockings. Each year we randomly select another family member to give to that year and fill a stocking with some of their favorite goodies. This year I’d like to try out some retro inspired stocking stuffers for my loved ones. So I have compiled a list of stocking stuffers that you may have found hanging above your fireplace in years gone past. Continue reading “19 Retro Inspired Stocking Stuffers”

DIY Messenger Bag

Right before my freshman year in college I was looking for a very specific bag to carry all my school supplies in. I wanted a messenger bag big enough to fit all my books and my laptop with a few pockets and a place to put some pencils for easy access. Unfortunately all the bags I found were too small or too expensive. I figured it was time to put my sewing skills to good use and designed my perfect bag. T Continue reading “DIY Messenger Bag”

Camping Essentials Checklist

Growing up my mom would take my siblings and me camping at least once a year. We had a group of friends and we would head out every summer. Somehow we always had everything we needed for camping, the magic camping fairy would prepare all out clothes, gear and food and we would just pack the car and leave. It wasn’t until I was freezing cold on a mountaintop with my brand new husband that I realized just how much work that camping fairy *cough, cough* mom…. Did before each trip. How to Have a Safe and Stellar Firework Show

The Easy Way to Prep Freezer Meals Before Baby: Part Two

This is Meal #2 in my meal prep for baby series. Meal #1 was a yummy sausage lasagna. But anyway, here we go. My mother has been making this Mac & Cheese since I was a tiny baby and it’s still one of my favorites. When mom would say she was making Mac & Cheese for dinner, the next question would always be “What Kind?” to which she would reply “The Good Kind.” And trust me, it is the good kind. The best part is it’s amazingly simple to make. Continue reading “The Easy Way to Prep Freezer Meals Before Baby: Part Two”

The Easy Way to Prep Freezer Meals Before Baby

This is the first post in my meal prep for baby series. I am so excited to get my freezer stash going. It will be so nice not to have to worry about making a nice comforting dinner and wrangling a new born. I have been thinking about prepping meals for a while now but every time I thought about, coming up with a menu, then spending a bunch of money all at once, then bringing all those groceries home and cooking a bazillion meals all at once…. I would completely lose interest. So instead I made a list of 10 meals my family loves. Now once or twice a week I will buy enough ingredients to make 2 or 3 batches of one of the meals, that one we can eat one for dinner and I can put the extra one or two in the freezer for later.
